Hi Craig;
Next time I update my woodworking site, I'll add a link to this forum.
Maybe it will bring some more members.

Hi Craig;
I'm not exactly sure, but I think its about an hour and change.

Thanks Craig
The look of that finish is perfect. We have been using mostly conversion varnish and on occasion pre cat lacquer.
I'll be giving the Polane a try though. I really like the look.
Hi Craig;
Ah, the fine art of of fixing boo boo's!
I've found myself in that position many times.
On your fifth picture, what kind of finish did you use? It's gorgeous!

Hi Craig;
No, never do I leave the blue tape on. Once the back is taped up with the blue tape, I flip it and tape it with the veneer tape. It was a little tough on this table since I was working alone, and the table is almost ten feet long.
Then I flip it again and remove the blue tape. I've been told that the blue tape will actually crush the veneer and leave permanent impressions once removed from the bag.
My pleasure for sure Craig.
These pictures are the process of seemingly out of control, to ready for the bag, to finished.
All parts were cut with a scalpel.
Thanks Craig;
I was just drooling over your posts, both the raw veneers and the finished work.
Hi Guys;
This is the home office we made the desk for. Both side of the room are book matched to each other. The grain is identical on opposing columns and cabinets.
The hardware was stainless steel.
The final carpet was black and really looked good.
Hi Craig;
Thank you. We drew the parts on auto cad and had a machinist turn them for us.
He turned them from solid cylinders of stainless. His work work was perfect!
We were commissioned to build a desk to match a home office we built. The materials a Quilted Makore, solid Mahogany, Stainless Steel and Black Absolute Granite.
Thank you Craig.
I'll definitely be returning as this is one of my favorite subjects.
Hi bigrob777;
That is a very unique veneer saw.
Where did you find it, and why do you use it instead of the standard saw as custom1veneer shows?
Hi custom1veneer;
Fantastic work and supply of veneers! Really incredible workmanship!
